Do not eat or drink anything, not even water for at least 8 hours before coming to the appointment.
Wear no tight clothing on the day of appointment. Wear a short sleeved shirt so a blood pressure cuff can be easily placed on your arm.
Visit the restroomone-half hour before appointment.
Do not ignore a head or a chest cold when oral surgery is to be performed. CallImmediately if any symptoms are present; a change of appointment may be necessary.
This time is reserved for you. Please give us 24 hours notice if you cannot keep this appointment.
Be sure that a responsible person comes with you on the day of the appointment. If you are under 19 years of age, this person must be your guardian. You must have someone drive you home. It is necessary for your driver to be authorized to receive your medical information, as we will need to share your post-operative instructions with them after your procedure.
Following the surgery, do not drive a car, operate power equipment of any kind, i.e. lawn mowers, tractors, power tools, etc., or make important decisions for 24 hours.
Plan for someone to remain with you for at least 4 hours following surgery.
